Flash
“He’s Perfect!” she said as they were packing up to leave. “I think I can ride him for a long time, and he will be a great new horse for me” the girl said with a smile.
The next week a vet came to examine me. They decided that I was healthy and ready to travel into a different country, whatever that meant. My owner started wrapping my legs, preparing to load me on a trailer for a long, 5 hour ride. I had no idea where I was going, but I was hoping somewhere warm, like my home for the winter in Florida. It was a bumpy ride. I kept wishing I had some toys, or even someone to keep me company. But I was all alone.
As we arrived at my new home, I saw the same little girl who had come to look at me before. She had a big bag of carrots and bananas, which I was happy to see because I was starving and I love bananas.
“He’s gorgeous” someone yelled from the barn.
“Wow! He’s big!” someone else exclaimed.
I knew I had to look as good as possible to make a good first impression on all of the people here to watch me. As the little girl took my lead rope, I began to prance to my stall with my big brown head held high. I knew that the bigger I looked, the more they would like me. When I arrived in my stall, there were toys everywhere with fluffy, new shavings.
The little girl brought all her friends over to meet me. She was so proud to show me off because she thought I was “adorable.” I thought I should gets some alone time, but in a few seconds, there was 10 people crowded around my new stall.
“This is my new horse, Flash” the little girl said as happy as ever. “I can’t wait for our journey to begin.”
And here we are, just two weeks later. Perfect buddies, like we have been together for years.

This was inspired by the time I got a new horse. He was my pride and joy and I was very happy to show him off when he arrived.
