Picture Story
While I was running around one day my sophomore year, I felt a weird feeling in my knee. Instantly I thought I had tore something again. Round two. I went into the doctors and he confirmed my worst fear, I had re tore my meniscus. I cried for a good two hours. I acted as if I just got told my life was going to end. A few long months later, I remember showing up to the hospital and they made me take a pregnancy test. I told them many times that I wasn’t pregnant but they insisted I take a test because the medicine I take could cause the baby harm if I was pregnant. I was a little nervous for the IV because I had not had an IV since I was 7. The poke didn’t scare me but that fact that their was a needle in my arm connected to my viens kind of threw me off. But they finally got me dressed in the hospital gown and the IV in my arm. I was counting down the minutes I had until my life changed again. I was ready to go and said bye to my parents and they started to take me back. I got to the operation room where they verified which leg would be operate on. I then was laying down and felt a cold substance that went into my IV and I asked what that was. They told me it was my sleeping medicine and it would kick in within seconds. I don’t remember falling asleep but I do remember waking up. I was so confused and didn’t understand where I was at.The nurse asked me a few questions and my pain level. I didn’t answer any of the questions. All I asked was where my mom was and that I wanted my mom. She said my mom could come in soon but I needed to answer her questions. I told her my pain level was a 7. I could tell in her voice she was aggravated at me. But I wanted my mom and she wouldn't bring her to me. Finally, she said my mom could come in. My mom got me dressed and ready to go. My body felt like I weigh as much sumo wrestler. I was glad to finally be going home.
