reflection
Watching the show Gearz helped me convince my dad to buy a whipple supercharger. It helped because it showed us that its not very complicated. we did it in about twelve hours and it was a great learning experience and it was really fun. Gearz made that a lot easier because we have seen him do it on the show and my dad has done it before.
The show Gearz is about modifying cars and trucks it shows you everything from building a Small block Chevy to building a unimog. This show has taught me a lot about cars and trucks and I plan on passing on the knowledge I have gained to my kids and hope that they do the same.
One of the reasons I like Gearz is because I like cars. The guy on the show is really cool and it makes it fun to watch and he makes it fun to learn. So far some of the stuff I have done with my dad is supercharged our suburbans 5.3, completely built my dad’s trucks, from a corvette ls1 to adding 4:56 gears and a grizzly locking differential. On our other trucks we put GM Goodwrench performer 350’s(350ci/350hp) my dads 2001 with the ls1 puts down 407hp and 460tq to the rear wheels so about 480hp before it leaves the engine.
In the future we plan on pulling the ls1 and replacing it with an lq4, ls3 or maybe even an ls7 so it has a lot more power, we are aiming for 500hp to the rear wheels and 600hp in the engine (an ls engine is a gm engine platform and it came in 1999 before that you had a typical 4 bolt main small block chevy). my dad and I were into cars and trucks before Gearz, but it has made us do some things we probably would never do if we didn't see how simple it really is
Those are some of the things that I enjoy cars trucks and building engines , have done built engines installed suspension components and exhaust systems , and plan on doing doing an ls swap on some of our small block trucks putting a larger ls engine in my dads truck and putting in a 4l70e transmission, that is between the 4l60e made for stock power bit can handle a little more and the 4l80e that can handle a lot of torque but isn't great for a street/strip truck because of the long first gear. Working on trucks is something that I really enjoy doing and the Gearz has made that a lot easier. Thats why I like Gearz. Gearz Nation For Life!!!
