Have you ever broken a bone? Have you ever experienced a cast? The inability to use your hand for anything limits everything you can do. Well, I broke my wrist, and this was one of my biggest obstacles I have overcame in my life.
Have you ever heard the phrase “Monkey see monkey do”?Well this phrase describes how I broke my wrist. I saw this lady on a television show and she was standing on the back of a chair, so I tried to do the same. I fell backwards on concrete and landed on my wrist wrong. I cried all the way home, it hurt so bad.
Treatment for a broken bone can be a pain. They put a cast on my arm and said I would have to have it on for six weeks. Sleeping with it wasn’t that bad, but it was a pain when taking a shower. Also, I’m a righty and I broke my right wrist. I was just learning to write in kindergarten.
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. It was finally the day to cut the cast off. I even asked the nurse if I could keep the cast, and I did. Once again I could finally use my hand after 6 long weeks.
As you can see, breaking my wrist was a very large event in my life, and I have learned from it. For einstein, to read the “do not attempt these stunts at home” warning . I also learned that you shouldn’t take anything for granted. As Helen Keller said “Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood”.
