Farthest Thing From Daddy’s Little Girl

Haley never could understand what she did wrong. Was she even in the wrong? Sixteen years with her father wasn't and would never be good enough for her. To this day, Haley and her brother don't talk about him, because it makes them extremely upset. They will never understand why some things happened, but she and her brother strongly believe that everything happens for a reason.

Last Easter one of her family members asked Haley“How’s your dad doing,Haley?” She looked at her in complete disgust, catching herself before she could snap back. They dont know what has happened so I can not completely blame them for asking me.She replied after starring at them for a second, and said, “I’m not quite sure, I wish I could tell you.” She looked back down at her food, she felt a huge knot form in her throat as she excused herself to the bathroom before she broke down at the dinner table.

It had been her first Easter without her dad, and she was already taking it hard. Haley’s brother came into the bathroom and asked if she was alright; she immediately hugged him, brushed her face off, and went back out to the dinner table with a smile on her face. Acting like she was fine, which she was a pro at doing. Every day she put on a smile, acting like she was perfectly fine, when deep down, she knew she was the farthest thing from it. Knowing she will never be “Daddys little girl” again is what hurts her the most.
