Kik Messenger: Do Not Use

Not long ago, I made a completely unsafe mistake. It was a rainy, dreary day. I was holed up in my room, propped up on my bed by millions of pillows, with my smartphone in my hand. I was scrolling down the screen through the App store, and I came across an app called Kik Messenger. Many of you may have heard of it and probably even used it. Kik Messenger is a social media app in which you can talk to strangers. I didn't realize it then, but I was exposing myself to sexual predators and sex offenders.

I was intrigued by the app, and I downloaded it. As soon as I downloaded, I met all kinds of people on Kik Messenger. However, more than half the users of Kik Messenger were perverted guys. Whenever somebody messaged me, chances are it was a sexual predator. They pressured me into posting inappropriate, sexual pictures of myself, and they repeatedly talked 'dirty' with me.

I learned that the world was not all rainbows and lollipops. The world is a dark, dangerous place to live in. There are people out there with a disguise. Whom you thought you were chatting to a sixteen year old teenage girl may be a forty year old married man with four children of his own.

So, I advise you not to use Kik Messenger if you haven't already. If you already have an account, I advise you to delete it. I learned a very valuable lesson, and I want others to learn the same, exact lesson too.

A while ago, I was a proud user of Kik Messenger. Now? Not so proud anymore. I learned a very important lesson about talking to strangers.
