“People ask me when I start one of these projects, what is your theme? I haven’t the faintest idea. That’s why you’re writing the book, it seems to me, to find out. To me, it’s a journey. It’s an adventure. It’s traveling in a country you’ve never been in and everything is going to be new, and because of that, vivid. And don’t make up your mind too soon. Let it be an experience.” —David McCullough

Recently my family had to say goodbye to our fourteen year old Great Dane. Sadie was a black dog with a white face and the tip of her tail looked as if she had dipped it in white paint. She was my best friend, the one who came to my rescue when I was afraid. Her big nose would wake me every morning as cold as can be. Not to mention how dangerous that wagging tail could be we even lost a lamp or two. Her brown eyes made it hard to scold her when you found her nose deep in a jar of peanut butter. It didn't matter that she was afraid of thunderstorms because I was too. I would tell anyone looking to get a dog to rescue one because they are the sweetest and kindest dogs just like my Sadie.
