“Taylor get out of bed! Come on we gotta go!” my mom said as she woke me up.
“uggghh” I groaned as I got up from my toasty bed.
I jump into some leggings, my jeans, a long pair of socks, a shirt and then a warm sweatshirt. As I waddle my way upstairs, I grabbed my mouth guard and helmet that were on the ledge, “I'm ready to go”.I said while my mom was getting her helmet on,
“I’m starving and I want some food,” louder than I should have at 4:30 in the morning.
“Quiet down your going to wake everyone up and we will get food in Cadillac,” my mom replied.
“Ok lets go.” I Groaned
My mom starts her motorcycle and we leave my grandma’s cottage for a very long bike ride to Mackinac.
Our first stop was just before Cadillac at a gas station for some gloves and to stretch cause being hunched over and keeping still in the cold really tightens you up .
“mom how long were we riding the bike,” I ask “for about an hour” she replied
“It doesn't seem like it was that long, but can we get some food I’m starving?” I pleaded
“Ya we just have to go up an exit and then we can eat at Mcdonalds ,” We eat at Mcdonalds and charged my Ipod for some entertainment for the ride.
After we ate we made our way to Mancelona. On the side of the road I saw three wild turkeys. Don't come on the road, I thought to myself. However, one of dumb turkeys decided to walk itself to the edge of the road and scared my mom and me.
When we arrived in Mancelona and stopped at another Mcdonalds to get some hot chocolate so we wouldn’t into icicles .When my mom order the hot chocalte she got no fat milk instead of regular. This tastes weird, but I drank it because it was warm and I wasn't .We walked out into the rain that felt like pins and needles attacking us.
We drove for about another hour and when I finally saw the edge of Lake Michigan I was so happy, but I got a little to exited and shook the bike. I was even more ecstatic when we saw the bridge.
After my mom parked her bike at a gas station. We had issues trying to get are helmets on the helmet lock, so after that whole ordeal we got in line for the buses that would take us across the bridge.
“ Mom this bus ride is taking forever I thought it was only 5 miles ?”
“Who is that from” I asked
“little grandma.” she replied
“oh what did she say?” I wondered
“She said why didn’t you call me last night cause we went up last night stayed at a hotel to avoid the rain.” she rambled
I turned and looked at my mom “ WHAT!!! we could have avoided the rain and cold !!” I said madly
“yup” she said blankly
