Father
Father was never much of a Feeler.
I always felt as though the world was going to come crashing down around me if it weren’t for Dad catching everything that threatened to fall on my head. He was always the one that was standing about me when I looked up, his arms spread above my head like an overprotective bat (or eagle). That’s why I called him Batman. But his friends call him “Mr. Superman.” Sometimes they even call him “Modern Abraham Lincoln” as a joke. He doesn’t really laugh about it, but I know he thinks it’s funny too.
But I don’t mind him not laughing so much. Besides, when’s the last time you saw Batman laughing heartily? So, it’s okay if the world’s superheroes don’t laugh or smile too much; they have the whole world riding on their shoulders… or a little girl under their wings.
But, I really do wish he would smile more often.
Just for me.
