The Time I Got Stuck in a Slide!
by Nate Ruvin
As I woke up, I saw my Dad enter the room. “Hey Nate,” He said. “I’ve got a surprise!” Instantly I jumped out of bed. “What?” I asked. “Mom and I are taking you, and cousin Jack to the Wisconsin Dells!!” I was so thrilled. “YAY! Thank You so much Dad!” I exclaimed. My cousin Jack and I were going to the Wisconsin Dells. I was so excited.
We went go-karting, on rollercoasters, and explored Lake Delton, but the one thing that sticks out about that trip: was getting stuck in a water slide! But to tell this story right, I’ll have to fast forward about 4 hours, to the moment Jack and I boarded our inertube to ride the Master Blaster water slide...

“Are you ready, Nate?!?” Jack asked me with excitement. We had waited 45 minutes in line for the Master Blaster. And it was finally our turn. The Lifeguard gave us a thumbs up, and we were off! We were soaring through tunnels, drops, turns, and bumps. I could feel the wind flowing through my hair. My fingertips were clenching onto the intertubes handles. But as we entered a large tunnel, everything died down. The jet of water had stopped flowing. Jack and I were stuck in the water slide. This was not good!
After a minute of sitting in that pitch black tunnel, we finally realized that we were trapped. “WHAT HAPPENED?” I was very scared. Jack stood up and started screaming “Help! Help! We are trapped!!” No answer. Just a loud echo. “No Jack” I said.”Someone might think we’re hurt! Let’s just be patient and wait.” But it was hard to be patient. I couldn’t even see Jack. I couldn’t even see anything! I could just hear Jack breathing heavily. “Jack,” I said. “This is so not good.” It had been 6 whole minutes of sitting there in the darkness. But then we heard a small voice. “Anyone in there?” It was the Lifeguard. “Yes. We are stuck!!” Jack shouted. The Lifeguard replied, “Okay. I’ll be right down.” Within 30 seconds the Lifeguard arrived. He shone his flashlight through the dark tunnel. "Oh my gosh thank you so much!". Jack said. He lead us to the emergency exit, and we walked down the stairs as thankful as could be. But as we walked down that emergancy staircase: We saw a man. He was very official. He was wearing a shirt and tie. He was also holding a clipboard. But worst of all he gave us a very menacing look.“What are you two doing?” He asked. “Umm...” Jack said. I could hear fear in his voice. “We got trapped on the water slide!” I told him. “Oh really,” He said. Jack all of a sudden got slightly angry. “No really!!!!” He said. “Nate is telling the truth. The slide stopped, and the lifeguard came. He told us to walk down the staircase.” The man jotted something down on his clipboard. “I think I might-”

“Nate? Jack?” My Mom ran up to us. “I have been looking for you. What in the world happened??” She exclaimed. “You know these two?” The man asked. “Of course, this is my son Nate. And my nephew Jack.” The man nodded. Then he stormed away, still confused. “Nate, Jack what happened?” My Mom asked us. “Honestly,” Jack said. “We got stuck in the slide! And the lifeguard told us to walk down that emergency staircase.” My Mom sighed with relief. “Well, I’m glad you boys are okay. Dad and I were worried!” For an hour Jack and I played in the water park. We had a great time! We went on every water slide. We were having so much fun. We rode slides that were slow, fast, scary, relaxing, lazy, intense, and much more.

And that's the time I got stuck in a waterside.
