The Heart of Life
I don’t believe I would be how I am today if it weren’t for my family, my parents especially. My family keeps me sane; they are always there for me. We have our flaws as a family, but we get through hard times as one. This family bunch is very secure; we don’t let ridiculous rumors bring us down. They are the heart of my life.
My dad has always been the role model of my life. He works hard to be able to provide the aspects my family and I need to survive. In return, I work hard in school to make the grades I need to receive scholarships for my future education. I also help with chores around our house, so my dad and stepmom have less to worry about when they return home from work.
We make our lives work with our hectic schedule. My dad having to work weekends makes it stressful on my mom to complete her weekend tasks and to help us complete ours. My mom is the savior of our family. She works all day long and comes home to a house full of five grouchy children. She has no choice but to put up with our attitudes, and she does it wonderfully. When I go home and vent to her about the problems with my day, she sincerely listens, even though she has more important tasks she could be doing. She truly deserves the greatest mother award.
My siblings are my best friends. They can make me laugh when I’m upset, and annoy me when I’m already irritated. We get along pretty well with each other, except some days when we just yell and fight with each other. We always have little moments that make me realize this time we spend together is almost to an end; the moments when I’m pushed onto the sofa so the boys can get the first slice of cake, and when all four of us try to occupy our tiny bathroom to get ready for school, and how we just push and shove and yell at each other; these little moments make me cherish my family and realize that my brothers, sister, and I will all be moving out in the next three years. We are all so dynamic with our own personality which makes our family us. My siblings and I have game days when we just play old board games we used to play as children. There’s just no better love then sibling love.
My family is all I need; if I had to see no one but them forever, I would probably be okay. I’m sure it would be very difficult, but in the end, they’re everything I could ask for.
