A Memory
“Lick my foot!” Paul suggests excitedly.
I raise one eyebrow quizzically, “I’m sorry, what?”
After Paul repeats his proposition once more and shoving his foot in my face, Kevin cuts in, “He’s always like that. You’ll get used to it.” I can tell already that I will learn a lot this summer – good or bad, I’m still not sure.
“O-oh. ‘Kay. Thanks,” I mumble, dodging another foot from Paul. This goes on for a few more minutes, until he begins to re-enact scenes from his favorite movie, Avatar. This includes several strange noises, that, despite seeing the movie twice, I don’t recall ever hearing.
“No problem,” is his reply.
I turn back to my peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and chat with the rest of my group until Kim interrupts us, “Breaks over! Pack up and pick up where you left off!” She shouts over Paul’s camel impressions, which sound bizarrely like geese.
