The Black Chromebook
I pull my chromebook out of my backpack and set it on the table. I press the back power button and it doesn't turn on. I press it many more times and nothing happens. I finally had enough and angrily slammed the button and it finally turned on. I watch the empty black screen rapidly light up. It shows a white abyss with a chrome logo. I furiously enter my password and go to do my work. I speed through my work as I am utterly bored. I finally finish and I quickly switch tabs to turn the stressful work. I finally hit the submit button and instant relief rushed over me. I gently shut my chromebook lid and put it away.
I still remember the day I got my chromebook, let's go back to 5th grade. I was walking down the quiet empty halls with black and white marble tile. I was heading towards the library when I passed the computer room. It was an empty black room with multiple brightly lit screens. I turned left down the next hallway and saw brightly colored pictures other students made. I finally made it to the library and felt a gust of wind from the white portable fan. I got in line behind my classmates and could smell leather and paper. I was looking around at all the massive brown bookshelves with many different colored books. It was my turn in line and I entered my student ID onto the keypad, the numbers were faded. The librarian handed me my chromebook with the gray case and the black charger. I finally walked back to my class with my new learning tool.
The librarian that gave me my chromebook looked mean. She had wrinkles in her face and red circle rim glasses. She would furiously press the enter key every time someone entered their code. She had a purple dress on with a colorful undertop. Her hair was a mountain goat fur brown. She looked mean but she had a smile on her wrinkly face. Her teeth were white and very straight. It was apparent she cared about her teeth. When we all left the library she said goodbye in a happy tone.
Back to the present day I still have my chromebook. I still do all of my school work on it. This experience was important because it has changed my learning experience forever. I will just keep using it until I don't have to use it anymore.
