My First Truck Wreck
I woke up and made some breakfast then I headed to work. After work I went to the pool and hung out with some buddies. Then one of them came back to my grandpa’s with me so we could go fishing then later that night i took him home which his house was 25 minutes away and I got him there in 8 minutes. Then I went back to town and I saw my cousin so I stopped to talk to him.
We was sitting in our trucks by Taco Johns in Atchison then we seen a pair of LED lights coming in our direction and then we both agreed that if it was a po-po we was gone. So I started driving and the cop pulled a U-turn and lit me up so I switched gears and floored it and before I knew it I was on the other side of town. Then I was going back to my grandpa’s and I saw a cop so I put my truck in reverse and spun it around then floored it again and was getting away again. Then they spiked stripped me and I went around a turn and did a 390 then went down main street then blacked out then hit a building and got ejected.
I woke up in KU hospital after being life lighted and asked, “How’s my truck”. Then the doctors proceeded to tell me it was totaled so I started freaking out on everyone that was in there and told them they all need to get out now. Mind you I was out of it I didn’t feel right. Then I was trying to get to the bathroom in my room and almost fell because I could hardly stand on my own.
After being in the hospital for 14 hours they finally let me go home. They put me in a wheelchair and wheeled me out and then they helped me into my moms car then they took me home. Once as I got home for about the first week all I really did was sleep. Then I got a little bit of my balance and stuff back so I went fishing because I got bored. After a few weeks I was workin again and working out.
My mentality the whole was I thought I was dumb for what I did and I didn’t pity myself for one second no matter how much pain I was in I knew I deserved every bit of it and when I went to court I was ready to take any punishment they threw my way and I did not let them scare me at all like they wanted to.
I learned my lesson and I will never try to out run the cops in city limits again. They don’t play fair in city limits that and out in the country you have more options especially if you know the area.
