tiny no.2
One Friday afternoon, ‘twas a school day. My pencil was getting a bit dull, and hard to write with due to how short the led was. I went up to the front of the classroom and begin to sharpen my pencil. I got a little side tracked while sharpening my pencil, because I was also on my phone. The video on my phone was becoming intriguing and more intriguing. By the time I realized I was sharpening my pencil my pencil was down to about 1.5 cm long.
Being this is the first time I’ve encountered such a tiny utensil, my original thought was to ask my teacher for a brand new pencil. However, I continued to walk back to my desk phone in one hand, pencil in the other. I sat down and began to work on my math work. The pencil honestly, wasn’t that bed. It was a pretty decent pencil! It worked well and I found it quite interesting how small it was. I held onto that pencil throughout the whole day.
The next week, during the same class. The same situation occurred: I broke my pencil. Yep. My new, no.2 pencil. I took a trip to the front of the class again, and started to sharpen my pencil. Only this time, I didn’t have my phone, or any distraction of that matter. I’m sharpening my pencil, and I’m noticing the size difference. Shorter… shorter… and shorter. The pencil got soo short to the point it was almost no pencil at all. Just wood with a piece of led on the tip of it. In my second period class, my friends asked me, ‘’hey, how come your pencil is so short?’’ and I answered, ‘’’oh, I accidentally sharpened my pencil too short, what a clutz right? ’’.
