It was that start of another football game except for this time it was a home game, but before I start I just want to say that injuries are very common in my family, especially if you play a sport. Alright now let's get back to it. So it's the start of the game and the team and I am getting fired up to give our fans a great show. It's the first quarter and its kick off time and as the ball went into the air I just had a feeling that it was going to be a great one. My feeling was right, now it's the second half of the game and our kicker Aden Domico is about to kick the ball our coach yells kick it to the left, something we didn't do all year, it didn't bother me at the moment but that was about to change in about 30 seconds. As the kicker adjusted to kick to the left I was ready to knock off some heads. Pow the kick was off, as usual I was the first one down to make the tackle, but the runner cut to the other side of the field. As I chased after him one of my team mates him the runner, but didn't wrap u, so he got away. He did slow the runner down just enough for me to catch up and make the tackle. When I was about to tackle him the rest of my came to help. It was a big pile up on the kick returner.

Then it happened, SNAP!!!!!!! My ankle, my ankle I felt it twist a way it wasn't supposed to, that's when I knew right then and there that I broke my ankle. For some odd reason it felt like the people that was in the pile took forever to get up, so in pain and anger I started yelling get off of me while pushing and pulling them off of my ankle. When everyone was up I sat there screaming, but didn't cry, not one tear. The trainer came up to me and asked what's wrong kid, and I said my ANKLE I think it's broken. My family who was at the game ran on the field to see what was wrong, and the trainer told them what I said. They then took me into the school and into the trainers office. The trainer thought that I rolled my ankle so she was gonna try to twist it back in place, but I knew it was broken so it screamed DON'T TOUCH IT!! Then the trainer called a hospital to see if the schools doctor was in and he was. So I had to ride in my grandfathers truck and go to the hospital there. We had to wait a long time before they called my name, but when they did and I got my x-rays I knew that my football career was over for the season. I had to wait a long time before the doctor came in, but the weird thing is they knew that I had a broken ankle and still didn't give me a cast that day. They gave me some kind of cotton cast that I could take off.

We got back into my grandfathers truck and the first thing he asked me was, what restaurant do I want to go to, you have to love the grandparents. Since we were by school, I said Portillo’s, and I got to order anything I wanted. I got so much food I was suppressed that I ate all of it. When I got home my mom made a joke, she said "okay son time to get up and clean up. I had to come back to the doctor in 2 weeks,  it those two weeks were the hardest for me. It was hard to get used to my crutches because they were tiring to use and the hurt. After missing a week  of school I decided to go, but there was a problem. Every time I would get out of bed and have my broken ankle towards the ground the blood started to rush to my now healing ankle and it was the worst pain I felt in my life. I think that when my ankle started heeling, it hurt more when I broke it.

Anyway I would just have to take the pain when I went to school. 2 weeks have passed and it's time for the hard cast, of course I pick my favorite color, red. I would need this cast on for about a month, then I would be able to walk In a boot. I think the only thing I liked about breaking my ankle is that I didn't have to do chores, I got my food brought to me, and I got to leave class 5 minutes early. A month has passed and it's time for the boot, this is also the time were it was the freshman last football game so I decided to go. When I got the boot I thought I would be able to ditch my crutches, but boy was I wrong. It took some time for me to even get used to the boot, so I still had to use them. I tried my best to get used to it as soon as possible, I would be at home over the weekend practicing, and in about 3 days I got it. Monday comes around and I want into the school without crutches, I felt great. I had the boot on for about 4 weeks, then I went back to the doctor, to get the boot off!!! When the doctor told me it's okay to walk I was so happy, but before I could they had to take an x-ray. It felt so weird to walk normal again, and a lot of people said I walked with a limp. It's wrestling season and I went to practice right away. The coaches didn't want me to do a lot because of me injury, but wrestling helped my ankle a lot, it helped it heal quickly and loosened my ankle up, but I didn't even notice until 4 weeks later. Now today I am just fine. Now it's my sophomore season and I'm going to take off on the field
