In April 2013 during spring break my family and I went on a cruise for Spring Break. Our three destinations included Key West Florida, The Grand Cayman Islands and Jamaica, I was so excited I couldn't control it. On the trip with me was my Mom, Dad ,and Grandma. We were all ready for a nice relaxing weekend.Unfortunately, we had to endure the plane first. The plane we took was dirty, nothing but crumbs and dirty seats. The air had a stench of sweaty socks and body odor, as if the average football team was riding along with us, the windows were so dirty I couldn't see more than two feet out the window. I had to think to myself that in six hours I was going to be on a nice beach so I had to just enjoy the moment and be glad I was going on vacation in the first place.Once we landed in Fort Myers Florida, we had to take care of all of the business stuff before we could relax and enjoy. Once we got finished with the business we grabbed our bags, backpacks and briefcases and drove down to the port only to find the biggest boat I have ever seen in my life. It was as tall as a twenty story building, I was in awe. Once we all got done gawking at the boat we decided it was a good time to check in our luggage. One thing I remember most about the check in line was that it smelt like stagnant water, and it reeked of fish as if the fish had not had a bath in years. Also, the line took three hours it felt like an eternity. Around 4:30 is when we were able to finally board the ship. We walked swiftly and fluently to the catwalk that took to the entrance to the behemoth of a ship, upon stepping into the ship there was a small podium with a woman behind it greetings us with handouts and wrist bands for certain activities, we grabbed the things and went to explore.

After we had grabbed our things we decided it was a good idea to quickly take our stuff to the sleeping quarters and head to the party deck. When we finally found our way to the party deck it was already packed filled with people and swimming pools everywhere, straight ahead lied a jumbotron on the screen was Jimmy Buffett's live concert of the iconic “Margaritaville” song that everyone was singing along to. I went to explore to see what else I could find. I wound up on the side of the boat, only to find myself looking out into nowhere for miles, it was like something I have never seen before. I took a deep breath and with a loud roar I belted out “i'm the king of the world”! I hope no one heard that I thought to myself. In that moment I realized how lucky I was to be able to go on this trip and to never take anything for granted because you never know when it will be taken away. From there we sailed off the next day waiting for our destiny to be filled.
