Dear Veteran,

I would like to start off by saying how much of an inspiration you are to me. When I think of someone who served; I think of how much they have done, what they have given up, what they have seen, what they feel emotionally, and when they come back how they should be looked up to by everyone. They should be thanked because they had no other option but to follow orders.

My name is Steven K., and I am a senior in high school. I am always thinking about those who have fought for the greatest country in the world. My friends know me as being really Patriotic. I always wear U.S.A. shirts or something. I love 4th of July and try to put on the biggest fireworks show I can. I do all of this for those who served. I am proud of those who have served like you, and I want them to know that. That is why I always am wearing patriotic clothing and celebrate the American Holidays.

I have met a couple people who have been in the military before and every time I met someone who fought for this country I shake their hand and thank them for all that they have done to keep this country free. They have told me some crazy stories about what they saw and did. I would like to here your story if you don’t mind me asking, and what I can do to help honor and show more respect for soldiers like you.

Because of people like you I have freedom to do what I want and be who I want to be. I am not the only one who is thankful, there are thousand and even millions of people who are thankful, but I am the lucky one who gets to write this letter to you showing my thanks. It is an honor to me that I get to write you this letter, and it would be an even bigger honor if I could shake your hand and say my thanks.

Sincerely,

Steven K.
