I will always
remember...
I will always remember...
looking into those eyes
for the first time.
Almost like glass,
so beautiful.
Her eyes would sparkle
and I would look
into them.
Our pudgy cheeks rose
as our tiny lips curled
into sweet smiles.
Her soft hand gently reached out
for mine.
Hands clasped,
we skipped together
down the dirt road,
giggling.
That was then.
Together, over the years,
we have grown,
changed,
loved.
We have made mistakes,
and learned,
and understood.
They say
friendship is
one soul dwelling in two bodies.
May only death keep us
apart.
