Once Love
Like red blood dripping from your mouth, the words seeped into the tainted air. At the time, those lushious, crafted words were unwanted. Yet at any other time, they would have meant pure joy. Now, they sat on my skin, unable to filter below the surface. Hot and sticky, the words rested on my lips.
“I love you,” He said.
My response?
“I did.”
