Ge-Ma's Eyes
My eyes are brown, that's all I can say. They're dull and dark. I've always wanted my Ge-Ma's eyes. They're bright green and luminous, but that's hardly why. Ge-Ma's eyes tell amazing stories.
I look at her green eyes and see a past of pain, suffering and hardship. But I also see joy. I see the joy of her three daughters and their families blossoming. Ge-Ma holds her head up for the world to see her story, but only I see it.
No one adores her eyes like I do.In my mind I could hear her answer if I asked her to trade. It goes something like this,"I'd trade you just to spoil you, but your eyes are just as special as mine."
But they're not. My eyes are brown, dull, and dark.
