The flag represents bravery and courage. From the fighting in the Bay of Pigs, and the savage attack of Pearl Harbor America has stood strong. Through victories, defeats, or tragic losses, America stood together as one, brave and courageous. The brute force of passion and nationalism of the red...the white...and the blue can’t be held back. Like the battle of the Alamo,we held ground for America.

Throughout history, the U.S.A. powered through struggling moments where fighting was necessary. To me, it started with the Revolutionary War. I l imagine being a child during the war that won America's freedom, looking out my bedroom seeing the flashes of cannons, and hearing the screams of women and children as houses burn to the ground. In that moment of despair, I would still know everything would be okay because of the United States flag flying high in the wind giving me of protection and putting passion in my heart to keep pushing through.

Today, as I look upon the flag with the soft glow of fire, an eagle screeches in the background as a tear rolls down my cheek. I am proud to be American!
