I can absolutely relate to Jose Montes in his article "Death." People do not appreciate the things they have until it is gone. I unquestionably enjoy the last stanza. "Now she's gone, never be able to talk to her, never be able to tell her you loved her." Like "Death," I did not treasure what I have had. Thanks to Jose, I am now more aware of my surroundings and loved ones.
