The college essay “Wendy the Builder” written anonymously in the November issue describes a unique view on the show “Bob the Builder” by discussing the lack of credit the character Wendy receives. The author makes an excellent point about the lack of recognition Wendy gets, and that she is the one you should remember not Bob. The piece brilliantly mixed reflections of her childhood with her current life and opinions. The author persuaded their opinion so well, and really left you questioning.
I have watched a few episodes of “Bob the Builder” when I was younger, but not enough to even remember who Wendy was. However, after reading the article and realizing how much Wendy actually does, I started questioning why I only remembered Bob instead of Wendy when she did all the work? As the author says, “If Wendy was really doing all the work, then why was Bob getting all the credit?” The author presents an intriguing point of view to light, and really makes you question the credit the famous builder receives.
