The Question MAG
To eat, or not to eat, that is the question
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to dine on
The blackened flesh that used to be a creature,
Or to decline against a wave of protest,
And therefore be a “veggie.” To eat that meat
No more; to not take life so you may sup
And have that guilt upon your soul for aye;
Life is a glorious thing. To eat no meat.
To know when you dine out that you must ask
If what you want contains a speck of meat,
For if it does you may be very sick.
When you have started down the rightful path,
You must be brave and check all things.
When you do not eat meat you’ll have long life,
Your blood through all your body freely flows,
And acne will not ever mar your face.
If you a kosher kitchen like to keep,
You’ll find it’s simpler if you have no meat.
One set of dishes, less rules to obey,
But cheese ain’t cheap, so why not join the vegans?
If eating out, a salad’s what you get,
If eating in, you have your pick of beans,
Soy ice cream is quite tasty, so I’ve found,
And tofu’s good as well as soy hot dogs.
Add vegetables and spices and you have
A meal fit for any queen or king,
But don’t expect to buy bread from the store,
You’ll have to make it in your bread machine.
Don’t think all vegans and their “veggie” friends
Are total health nuts to the very core,
We eat our share of candy, pop and chips,
And fry things just as often as the rest.
We dine on soulless things: the wheat and grape,
But when you feast on chicken, pig or fish,
Be all their souls remembered.
