Earth’s Skin MAG
The snow is not pure, no longer sweet and white.
The air no longer crisp, for there is smog.
The water is no longer quenching thirst,
For it is filled with nasty gunk from drains.
The ocean life, like coral, dies each day,
And some of the pleasant flowers do not bloom.
The fish from moving streams that glide and slide,
They fall away from places programmed for.
Our leaders look around themselves and think,
So what on earth is happening today?
Not recognizing their part in earth’s fall,
They fail to understand economy.
So what has happened to our precious earth?
There’s pollution, junk and trash and filth.
All thrown down onto earth’s most precious skin.
Poor Mother Earth gasps for her fresh, cool breath.
She chokes on actions of corrupt beings.
Why must we do this to our home sweet home?
It is the only home we have; none more.
We ponder, but no answer ever comes.
