There are many issues in the world, each having their own impact. One of the largest today is Social Media. It is known that every single month, approximately 800 million users log onto Youtube. There’s more to Social Media besides Youtube. There are other websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Gmail, Yahoo, and many more! Personally, I think that Social Media is an excellent thing, allowing us to talk to friends; anytime and anywhere.

Besides me, many other people find Social Media to be a good thing. Without it, large and popular companies like Facebook and Twitter wouldn’t exist mainly because such a gigantic amount of people have taken advantage of chatting online with friends and family whenever you want! Social Media can also be used for education, such as e-mailing your teachers about important things if you’re away, or can’t talk to him/her at the time.

For everything good, there’s bad. Some people may disapprove Social Media for such reasons like “I am not really interested in it.” or “I don’t want to take any risks”. People mostly avoid Social Media for their own safety, or safety others. Another disadvantage of Social Media mostly occurs on places like Facebook. If you were to post something, it’s there forever; you don’t know what will happen to it.

How can Social Media affect people? There’s lots of things that could happen! For example, kids could be influenced by the possibly dangerous behavior of other strangers on places like Youtube. Many may say that this has already happened; it’s true. Generally, it may turn for the better or the worse. It is up to you to decide what to do. Be cautious, the internet is known to be a complete mystery.

This commentary is based towards people of all ages. For the most part, Social Media is an excellent thing; you won’t regret it. Many have decided to participate, now it’s your turn. Join the revolution today.

Overall, Social Media is in my opinion a very innovative, controversial, and interesting concept. I want you to join the revolution of Social Media today; you’ll love it. Hundreds of thousands of people have started, you should too.
