The Sin of Stain
His mother tut-tutted over the state of the shirt. Spraying it carefully with detergent, she hung it up to dry.
Coming back an hour later, the stain was gone. With an air of victory, she flung it into the washing machine. As she turned to walk back through the door, she noticed a speck on the frame, and she sighed at the state of the house. Spraying it carefully with detergent, she hung it up to dry.
Coming back an hour later, the speck was gone. Triumphant at her success, she turned to see her child walk into the laundry room his snack smeared all over his face. A hint of anger colored her cheeks as she grabbed the bottle, and after spraying him carefully with detergent, hung him up to dry.
Coming back an hour later, she noticed a fleck of dirt on the police officer’s uniform. “Don’t worry, I’ll get it,” she assured him over his screams of protest, and hung him up to dry.
