June 2,2026.
Jeff woke up got dressed and drove to go get Mike and get breakfast as usual, today was not a usual day.No, today was Graduation Day.
“You ready, man?” Mike said.
”I've been ready for a while, Mike,” Jeff answered with a smirk.
”How’s your old man?” Mike asked.
  “The doctors say his condition is getting worse but, of course he says he feels like a million bucks.” Jeff replied.
“Have you got any leads on your mystery mom?” Mike asked.
  “Well, actually one of my sources up state just informed me her name is Stephanie,” Jeff said.
“Well that's good, maybe we can take a road trip and solve this mystery after school.” Mike added. “Yeah, that'd be fun.” Jeff said. “Well, man get ready we're here.” Jeff said,they both looked at each other and said “Graduation Day!”
Let's swing by Mrs.Rose's room, “I think she’d like to see us before the day is over,” Mike said, Jeff began to speak but was cut off by the sound of his phone ringing.
“ Hello?” Jeff said. After a second or two a voice that was masked by a voice changer began to speak
“ Hello, Jeff Morgan, we have sent you an address, be at that address in 15 minutes if you really want to know what you have seeked your whole life.” As Jeff was about to speak the phone hung up, he looked at Mike and said
“ There's a family emergency at the house, I gotta go.”
Mike looked at him and said “ You  can't miss Graduation Day Jeff, you can't leave.”
Mike, I have to.” Jeff said as he was walking backwards.
10 minutes or so had went by and Jeff pulled up to the location. As  soon as he put the car in park his phone rang once again. The same voice began to speak, “Good I see you have came, pull around the back and park by the red oak tree and walk to the back door, the door will be unlocked, walk in sit down, and wait for further instructions.”, the call ended, and Jeff parked by the red oak and turned the car off and said to himself , “What am I doing?” He walked around the back and went inside the door, sat down on the table where there was a computer and a bright yellow folder with a stamp on the front that said “Confidential”, he sat down opened the computer but before he could turn it on his phone rang once again, it was Mike he said
“Man,first period just ended were heading to the auditorium now, there starting with the ninth graders and going up don't miss Graduation Day.
Jeff answered,
“i'm kinda in the middle of something right now, but thanks.”, and then he hung up. His phone rang again this time though it was the voice, “On this computer is everything you seek.” Jeff cut the voice off, “Who are you, why are you telling me this.” “Mr.Morgan, I am not your enemy, I am trying to help you.,” “Help me with what!?” , he yelled back.
“Everything you have been looking for your whole live, who you are, who your mother is everything I am trying to help you learn who you are.” “Now, the files on this laptop is every piece of information about your mother Stephanie, the file next to the computer is the last job she had.” “Job?” Jeff asked. “ Just open them and read them, when you're  done, take them and leave.” the voice said, then the phone hung up.
Jeff sat for about fifteen minutes and just stared at the files, finally he slowly open them and started at the stop. The file read, Stephanie Wilson C.I.A operative, location unknown last known mission, Operation Nano, Los Angeles, California. Jeff pulled out his phone went to the American Airlines website and bought a plane ticket for that evening, he headed home to back his bags. As he was walking out of the door he noticed a black suv parked on the road across, the street this was the same suv that he saw on his way to school. He continued walking to the car, and then he received a text from Mike,
”Hey man, I don't know what you're doing, we've been dreaming of this day forever, just come back, it's Graduation Day.” Jeff replied
“ I know man I have to go home really quickly and get some things and I will be right there.
As Jeff pulled out of the neighborhood, he saw the suv start to move as well, he acted as if he didn't see it, but he was very aware. Jeff kept saying to himself “It's nothing you're just paranoid.” he pulled up to his house and before he could move, his phone rang yet again.
”Hello” Jeff said, it was the voice again,
“Hello,Mr.Morgan, I noticed that you purchased a ticket to California, looking for someone?” Jeff said in a aggravated tone,
“You know who i’m looking for.”
“I can help you along the way, but only if you do something for me.”
Jeff pondered and then asked,
”What is the favor?”
“I need you to bring me something”
“What is it?” Jeff said.
“Don’t worry about that just know that you're going to steal it. I have sent the location to you, the thing that you are retrieving is safety deposit box Number:908.”
“I’m robbing a bank?”
“No, you're simply picking the box up, tell the bank you are Robert Ross, and tell them that the egg has been hatched by horton.”
“Dr.Seuss?” Jeff asked,
“No, it's a code phrase, just say it they will know what to do.” The phone hung up, and Jeff pulled up the address and drove off.
He pulled up to the bank he said to himself, “Hello, I am Robert Ross, the egg has been hatched by horton.” He got out of the car walked up the banks stairs and entered the building.” The bank teller asked
“Hello sir, how may I help you?”
“I am Robert Ross” The bank teller looked at him and asked
“Have you read any Dr.Seuss lately? Jeff looked around and leaned in and awkwardly whispered
“The egg has been hatched by horton.
” The bank teller said,
“ Oh yes, Mr.Ross right this way, and Jeff was lead to a room filled with deposit boxes he said,
“Thank You, I'll be real quick.” The teller said,
“Take as much time as you need sir.” and left the room. Jeff walked over to the 900’s and pulled out 908, he walked out of the room and exited the bank. He got into his car and called the voice, he said
“I have the box, what do I do with it?” the voice said,
“ Just keep it until I give you further instructions, now your mother's last known address in California was 215 N.Main St, she is under the name Rebecca.”
“Thanks” Jeff said, the phone hung up and jeff drove to school. He pulled up to school, and headed toward the auditorium and searched for Mike, when he found him he sat down, and Mike said,
“Finally” Jeff said,
“Sorry.”
Mike glanced at Jeff and they both said “Graduation Day!” They were instantly shushed by a teacher.
All of the names before Jeff and Mike had been called and it was almost time, Mike looked over at Jeff and asked
“You ready?” Jeff said,
I’ll be right back, and headed to the bathroom. He went in the bathroom and looked into the mirror he glanced at himself for a while and then he splashed water into his face, and then his phone began to ring. It was the voice but this time the voice sounded different instead of using a voice mask it was just a regular voice
“Son.” it was Jeff's father. Jeff said with a very shocked voice,
“Dad, you’re the voice? This whole time you've been telling me these things?
”I know son, and I'm sorry but I have big news on your mother, she was just caught on a traffic camera.” Thomas, Jeff’s father said. Jeff immediately said,
“Thank you dad, we have a lot to talk about, but for now thank you.” and he hung up the phone.
Jeff went back to his seat by Mike, and kept looking around searching for his mother because he had a feeling she would show up, only one problem he had no clue what she looked like. The Assistant Principal came to Jeff and Mike's row and said we are ready for you. The names went by, “Michael Garcia” said the Principal as he called out Mike's name. The principal said now, for a speech by one of our best students Jeff Morgan everyone applauded.
“Thank you, Thank you, these past 4 years have been scary,fun, and exciting. I’ve learned a lot of things, made a lot of friend, and created unbreakable relationships with people. I’ve made some great memories I will never forget. Thank class of 2026!” as Jeff got his diploma and was walking off the stage he saw a tall woman who stood out in the crowd, he instantly knew it was his mother. He walked over to her and said
“Hi, mom, welcome home.” she replied with a tear in her eye,
“Hello Jeffery.” and they left the school.
“Why now? All of a sudden you show up why?” Jeff asked.
“Because it is Graduation Day.” His mother answered.
“What now?” Jeff said.
“I don't know.” She said, as they got into the car.
