ACT 7
SCENE 1
[small alleyway behind bar- dark lighting, golden streetlights (spotlights, slightly dimmed), garbage cans, stray trash laying around]
ENTER JACE FROM STAGE LEFT
Jace angrily punches wall and knocks over trash can, spilling garbage on the floor. He then sits down against the wall, running his hands anxiously through his hair.
ENTER HAILEY FROM STAGE LEFT
Hailey runs towards Jace and then stops abruptly, staring down at him. Jace sighs and looks up at her. Hailey, breathing heavily, continues to stare down at Jace. Hailey takes a step back.
Hailey (quietly): I love you.
Jace sighs again and cracks his knuckles. He stands up and shuffles his feet.
Jace (quietly): I love you.
Both continue saying “I love you” back and forth, going through stages of shyness, then passion, then anger, then sadness, until they are both violently sobbing.
