INT. CATHERINE’S HOUSE - NIGHT

It is 11:00 pm on a saturday. Catherine Greene is hosting a party between her and her 5 friends.

SCOTT- Irish/Scottish. An athletic and popular kid. Has many friends but mostly enjoys the company of Catherine, Kate, Josh, Sam, and Tommy.

CATHERINE- Native American/Italian typical 18 year old girl. Likes to keep to herself most of the time besides when she’s with her 5 friends Tommy, Scott, Kate, Sam, and Josh.

    SCOTT
“Catherine this party is really fun I appreciate you doing this.”

CATHERINE
“Aww thanks Scott I was only planning on having the 6 of us anyway I didn’t want to trash the house.”

SCOTT
“Have you seen Kate or Josh? I’ve looked around the house for about 15 minutes now.”

CATHERINE
“Hmmmm maybe they’re by the firepit or something.”

SCOTT
“Yeah probably knowing them they never leave each other's side.”

CATHERINE
“That’s true but they are pretty awkward around each other but maybe they both came out of their shell.”

Tommy- German/French Captain of the hockey team. A nice boy but can be annoying at times. Loves to party.

TOMMY
“Everybody gather around we gotta do something fun and exciting.”

Sam- Canadian/Polish A rather shy girl who has limited friends besides Tommy, Catherine, Kate, Scott, and Josh. Does a lot of clubs like newspaper club and Tech club.
SAM
“I agree.”

Josh- Puerto Rican/Latino A Intelligent boy with an attitude towards people who make him mad. Also a friendly boy to his friends. Likes video games but stays in shape by lifting weights.

TOMMY
“Hey why don’t we go the cemetery and play cemetery tag.”

Kate-Russian/British a very pretty and popular girl. Doesn’t let her other popular friends get to her she stays loyal to Sam, Tommy, Scott, Josh, and Catherine.
KATE
“Yeah that would be so fun!”

EXT. STREETS-NIGHT
CATHERINE
“Scott come here.”

SCOTT
“What’s up cat.”

CATHERINE
“I’m actually scared to go to the cemetery.”

SCOTT
“How come?”

CATHERINE
“I don’t know I just have a bad feeling about this.”

SCOTT
“Come on cat we’ll be fine it’s just a cemetery all the people that are in it are dead anyway.”

CATHERINE
“Yeah but it is Halloween night and isn’t there an urban legend about this place.”

SCOTT
“Yeah but those are never true it’s just to scare the locals.”

CATHERINE
“Alright thanks for calming me down.”

SCOTT
“No problem.”

TOMMY
“Alright we’re here!”

SAM
“This is probably the sketchiest place i’ve ever seen ahh im so excited!”

EXT.INSIDE CEMETARY- NIGHT
TOMMY
“Okay so everybody run and hide and ill try to find you and the base will be that dead tree.”

CATHERINE
(Catherine’s mind ) “I wonder how many souls are just forgotten here woah ah”
“Ouch my head ahh what did I trip over?”
“A doll? well that is just plain creepy.”

LITTLE GIRL
“Hi there.”

CATHERINE
“What? who said that?”

LITTLE GIRL
“Me i’m over here.”

CATHERINE
“Jeez you scared me umm how old are you?”

LITTLE GIRL
“Well in this body i’m 5 but in the one in the ground i’m 85.”

CATHERINE
“What do you mean?”

LITTLE GIRL
“I’ve been buried here for 80 years my grave is right under that tree.”

CATHERINE
“Is this a prank? there’s no way I mean you look like an actual person.”

LITTLE GIRL
“Well when I was 5 years old my father took me to that tree and hung me. You and your friends should consider leaving soon or I’ll kill all of you.”

CATHERINE
“This is just a figment of my imagination there’s no way, this isn’t real.”

TOMMY
“Ahh I got you catherine!”

CATHERINE
“Damnit Tommy you scared the crap out of me.”

TOMMY
“Well that is the point of the game.”

CATHERINE
“Don’t you see that little-wait where’d she go.”

JOSH
“Haha I made it to the base Tommy!”

CATHERINE
“Wait that little girl said she was hung from that tree, Josh come here!”

JOSH
“What? I can’t hear you.”

TOMMY
“What’s that thing behind Josh?”

CATHERINE
“What the Josh look out!”

JOSH
“Why?”

(A demonic looking figure sticks his razor sharp claws through Josh’s stomach)

CATHERINE
“Oh my God.”

TOMMY
“Catherine run!”

TOMMY
“We gotta find the others we’re going to be hunted down by that thing.”

CATHERINE
“One of my best friends just died. WHAT IS GOING ON!”

TOMMY
“Where the hell are they!”

SAM
“Psst guys over here its Sam.”

TOMMY
“Sam thank God you’re alive quick follow us we need to find Scott and Kate.”

SAM
“Why we just got he-.”

TOMMY
“No time to explain just come with us.”

SAM
“Alright fine.”

CATHERINE
“Come on guys come out please.”

SCOTT
“Guys over here.”

TOMMY
“There’s Scott let’s go get him!”

SCOTT
“Guys this is such a good spot!”

CATHERINE
“Scott there;s no time to explain just come with us now!”

SCOTT
“Ummm okay?”

SCOTT
“Do you know where Kate is?

TOMMY

yeah she’s with me.”

CATHERINE
“Kate come out now we need to go.”

KATE
“Guys what is going on?”

CATHERINE
“We’ll explain everything later right now we need to find a way out of this cemetery.”

SAM
“Hey guys do you see that really tall man over there.”

CATHERINE
“Oh no it’s back.”

KATE
“What’s back?”

CATHERINE
“That thing killed Josh right in front of me and Tommy’s eyes!”

SAM
“You guys are crazy.”

SCOTT
“It’s holding something behind it’s back.”

(The demon pulls Josh’s head out from behind it’s back.)

KATE
“Oh my God my, my best friend is dead.”

CATHERINE
“Don’t move it wants us to run.”

KATE
“Are you crazy do want to die?”

CATHERINE
“Just wait.”

KATE
“Catherine we’re leaving now.”

CATHERINE
“Wait.”

KATE
“Catherine!”

CATHERINE
“Wait!”

KATE
“That’s it im out of here!”

CATHERINE
“Kate no!”

(The demon starts chasing Kate)

SCOTT
“Damnit Kate now we can’t save her.”

SAM
“It’s about to get her!”

(The demon pounces on Kate and tears her apart)

TOMMY
“What do we do now!?”

CATHERINE
“Now we run!”

SCOTT
“There are limited places to go Cat!”

CATHERINE
“Quick in that mausoleum maybe it won’t see us.”

INT. MAUSOLEUM-NIGHT

SAM
“Oh my God two of our best friends are now dead! Who would’ve thought that this would happen to us.”

CATHERINE
“Look guys we can’t fall apart now, we gotta find a way out of here.”

SCOTT
“Tell me something I don’t know.”

CATHERINE
“Anybody have any ideas?”

TOMMY
“Face it cat we’re all  going to die there’s no point in running.”

CATHERINE
“Listen Tommy we need at least try unless you're asking for a deathwish.”

TOMMY
“I don’t wanna die i’m only seventeen but think about it there’s a demon from hell chasing us and it’s already killed two of us it’s only a matter of time before it gets us.”

CATHERINE
“You may be right, it may kill all of us, but does that mean that we shouldn’t at least try.”

TOMMY
“How are we going to get out, there’s just no way I guarantee the gate is locked he will find a way to kill all of us there is no ho-”

SAM
“Tommy Shut Up!!!”
“Listen Catherine is right Tommy even if we do die we still have to try to get out.”

CATHERINE
“Thank you Sam.”

TOMMY
“Sigh fine if you think we should try then what do you propose we do.”

CATHERINE
“Well there’s no way to kill it i’m guessing.”
“For now we hide hopefully it won’t find us.”

SCOTT
“That plan is going to fail.”

CATHERINE
“WHY?”

SCOTT
“look out the window.”

CATHERINE
“It’s staring at us but it’s not moving. why?”

SCOTT
“Maybe it can only see movement nobody move.”

CATHERINE
“It’s walking away it’s working.”

SAM
“Alright he’s out of sight where too now?”

EXT. CEMETERY-NIGHT

TOMMY
“We have to move slowly and quietly.”

SCOTT
“Alright everyone on me.”

SAM
“Guys I think we should-”

(The demon slices Sam’s head off)

CATHERINE
“Oh my God it outsmarted us, it wanted us to move.”

SCOTT
“Run!”

TOMMY
“I told you it will kill all of us some how.”

CATHERINE
“Damnit Tommy shut up!”

SCOTT
“Alright slow down and get behind that bush.”

TOMMY
“Great now what?”

CATHERINE
“Guys there’s a tree that the demon died at maybe if we burn it or something it will be destroyed.”

SCOTT
“It’s worth a shot but how are we going to get fire.”

TOMMY
“Well I have a lighter in my pocket.”

SCOTT
“Tommy why do you have a lighter?”

TOMMY
“I smoke cigarettes.”

SCOTT
“Tommy that’s nasty man.”

TOMMY
“Shut up my cousin got me hooked on em’ blame him.”

CATHERINE
“Whatever it doesn’t matter we need to find dead bark too burn.”

SCOTT
“The demon is watching our every move how are we going to do that?”

CATHERINE
“You’re right is there any around this area?”

TOMMY
“There’s a couple of pieces right here but I don’t think it will be enough.”

CATHERINE
“Then we’ll have to stay along the forest line hidden in the bushes and stuff picking up pieces along the way to the dead tree.”

SCOTT
“Alright let’s get going.”

CATHERINE
“Try to stay hidden because we’re screwed if we don’t.”

SCOTT
“Try to stay hidden because we’re screwed if we don’t.”

CATHERINE
“I see it it’s by the Smith grave.”

TOMMY
“Make sure it doesn’t see you.”

(Crack)

SCOTT
“Shhhhh! it’s looking around, don’t move.”

TOMMY
“It’s walking away now move more swiftly.”

CATHERINE
“Alright now get behind those graves quick before it sees us.”

CATHERINE
“The tree is right over there Tommy hand me the lighter.”
SCOTT
“Wait Catherine don’t yet it’s walking this way.”

TOMMY
“I’ll distract it.”

CATHERINE
“Tommy no please.”

TOMMY
“Cat it’s my fault we’re here in the first place, it’s my fault Sam, Josh, and Kate are all dead, I have to do this.”

CATHERINE
“Tommy I can’t lose another friend, please.”

TOMMY
“Tommy I can’t lose another friend, please.”

CATHERINE
“Tommy I can’t lose another friend, please.”

TOMMY
“I’m sorry Cat. Hey you over here come get me.”

CATHERINE
“Tommy no!”

SCOTT
“Cat let’s go we need to burn that tree now!”

CATHERINE
“I hope he makes it.”

SCOTT
“Lets go!”

SCOTT
“Quick light the bark.”

SCOTT
“Now throw it at the tree.”

TOMMY
“Guys!”

SCOTT
“Tommy! he made it!”

CATHERINE
“He actually made it.”

SCOTT
“Oh no it’s catching up to him.”

CATHERINE
“Tommy run faster!”

(The demon drives his claws through Tommy’s stomach, picks him up, and slices his head off.)

CATHERINE
“Nooooooo!”

(Lights tree, the demon starts twitching and moaning)

SCOTT
“It’s working.”

CATHERINE
“C’mon burn faster dammit.”

SCOTT
“It’s coming closer.”

CATHERINE
“Burn!’’

(The demon starts steaming)

SCOTT
“Cat look out!”

(Cat dodges the demon)

(The demon explodes)

CATHERINE
“It’s over it’s finally over.”

(The gate opens)

SCOTT
“Let’s get out of here.”

CATHERINE
“I’m with you on that.”

SCOTT
“So what are we going to tell their parents”

CATHERINE
“I don’t know but-”

LITTLE GIRL
“Hey look back here.”

SCOTT
“Huh?”

CATHERINE
“It’s that little girl.”

(The little girl fades away)

SCOTT
“Did we help her crossover?”

CATHERINE
“I don’t know maybe.”

(Scott and Cat walk away)
