Prey (Part Seven)
I creeped up to the door and tried to hear the muffled conversation. “Just show me and you’ll get the cash. Okay, here it is. Now let’s g-“ The transformation was now complete. Their language was now foreign to me. I feared the worst and snapped into the door.
They were close by and I could bring them down with one hand. They squeaked out words under the pressure of claws on them. They weren’t aware that I could not understand their pleas. What I had heard from the previous conversation proved that they were trying to shut me down. I therefore had a decision to make, but I needed to make it quickly. My brain would only be human for minutes more, and they would only live for minutes more.
