It was me, not him!
I was there for you. I was the one who helped you through the hard times. I was the one that warned you about It. It was me who told you, not him.
And now what? Now that you’re with him, what are you going to do?
Do you even remember what I said? Or even who I am?
Here, I’ll tell you either way, just so you can remember it later.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Me: “Can I talk to you for a minute?”
We were sitting on your bed, and you were looking out the window, at the rain clouds that were rolling in.
You: “What about?”
Me: “Nathaniel.”
That startled you, and you turned to look at me.
You: “What about him?”
Me: “How much do you know about him?”
You: “What do you mean?”
Me: “Do you realize what he is? What he has done, and does?’”
You: “You mean, like that he‘s a player, and dates, like, lots of girls at the same time?”
Now it was my turn to be surprised.
Me: “What? No! That is not what I mean. What I meant was, do you realize that he is not a human?”
You gave me a puzzled look.
You: “What do you mean?”
Me: “You don’t know?”
You: “what are you talking about?”
You looked scarred.
Me: “I think you should ask Nathaniel the next time you see him.”
You: “What are you talking about?”
Me: “You really don’t know, do you?”
Now you looked absolutely terrified.
You: “N-n-no.”
Me: “I think you should ask him, then…”
You: “You tell me? Please?”
Me: “ You sure you want me to tell you?”
You: “Yes”
Me: “Okay then. Here it is: He’s not at all what you think he is. Yes, he is a player, but no, that’s not all he is. Haven’t you ever thought about anything he does? He goes out with a lot of girls, but what do the girls think? Everyone thinks he is gorgeous, but nobody ever seems too awfully hurt when he dumps whoever he was dating that day, do they?” when you shook your head, I continued, “and why do you think that is?”
Instead of replying, you ran out of the room, and we havent talked since. You swear that I am the bad one, and that he is the little angel. Oh well, its your life, you can go ruin it if you want to.
Just don’t come running to me if anything bad happens to you.
