A New Begining
Nothing can describe the pain one feels, while watching as a loved one suffers.
The family breaks, the chaos begins, and it seems like all hope is lost.
There is only one with hope, with strength, and with bravery.
Who fights for themselves, and tries to help all others.
Who has found peace with the inevitable, and accepts it with all their heart.
Waiting for heaven, waiting for the new beginning…
God watches down from heaven, he watches and waits, his heart heavy.
He sees a family in pain, and wishes they knew what he did.
God waits for his child to come back once again and join him for eternity.
He longs for his child to have his new beginning…
The cancer is consuming more, and the chemo weakens him.
The family has a fake smile plastered on their faces,
As their hearts feel like someone is crushing them in an unfeeling fist…
Never stopping…crushing smaller and smaller,
Choking on their words, feeling the hot, burning tears on their faces,
As they carve the Christmas turkey
The ill one sits and prays silently…and prays for this new beginning…
God forever watching his beloved children,
He watches them all, and a clear golden tear rolls down his perfect face.
He answers the prayers he hears daily the best he can,
He gives them some sort of faith, some sort of hope.
The new beginning was coming soon.
He sits in the office, peaceful and calm.
His family is with him, tense and nervous.
The doctor comes into the office, sweat across his brow
And a mandatory straight face.
Dr. gives the ultimatum, and everyone goes silent.
Everyone looks at the man, some have silent tears.
Heavenly father sees the choice He has made.
A small smile comes across his face.
And he watches as the family finally starts to accept,
As they start to learn, as they start to feel the warm, golden feeling
Of God’s love, starting deep in themselves, then to every other inch.
It feels like a flower has blossomed within themselves
A giant golden rose, that radiates warmth and pure love.
They feel a mixture of sadness and happiness.
He has passed.
But he has passed peacefully, painlessly
He passed without anger, without question
He passed with a pure and fulfilled spirit, his heart light
He saw his family sit and cry, but knew that they felt only love
And knew now that they had no reason to cry,
That they should be happy, and that it would not be the last time
That they would be together, that it was not the last time
That they would embrace, join hands and walk across an endless golden field
Laughing and humming sweet tunes, together for eternity.
This was only the beginning of a new life.
And as he watches his family, a brilliant light shines on his face
He turns to his left to see a beautiful creature, dressed in a silver gown
With an aura of blue light around its golden locks.
The face indefinable.
It smiles, and takes his hand
He looks at it wondrously, and asks, “What are you?”
“Me? I am merely a messenger of something greater than you can believe.”
The creature grins with white teeth as they shoot into the sky
The old man flies over mountains with the creature,
Then over a massive blue sea, he looks back as they fly
And sees bright blue dolphins play in the water
They fly for minutes, and then arrive in a mysterious place
An endless golden field, the tall grasses swaying in the wind
There is a small cottage at the end, what he has always wanted
He sits in the rocking chair in front of his new home
He turns his head to the sky, feels the warm sun on his skin
And he opens his eyes
The sky shows his family, and he watches, and he waits
Smiling.
This is the new beginning.
