Starvation pierced through my core as I walked. Hide, move, find shelter, repeat. That’s what’s been going through my head for months. My supply of tools was running short. I hadn’t found enough rope to make snares, and my travel-watch was running out of juice. I was so, so hungry. I clutched my stomach as I walked into the abandoned town, hoping to at least find a rat or squirrel for now.

My eyes lit up as I saw something in the distance, an abandoned house, what luck! I might be able to find an old can of beans or something in there!

Blinded by the first hope I had had in what felt like forever, I ran to the homestead and looked for traps (One can never be too careful as a time fugitive). Thankfully, I saw none, so I snuck inside through the back door, just in case.

“Hello?” A voice called out to me. I flinched back, but I quickly realized that the person this voice belonged to was not malicious. I called back.

“Are you here to get rid of me?” The feminine voice asked.

“No, unless you’re here to do the same,” I responded.

A girl emerged from behind the grandfather clock in the center of the room. She looked me up and down, I did the same, and we both quickly realized something.

We’re both from the same time, 3,450 years in the future.
