The Guardian
It was the middle of the night in Chicago, and for Charlotte, just the beginning of her slumber. As she started to go to dreamland, a mysterious and mystic creature appeared in her room. She immediately shot her eyes open. This was her guardian! On Earth, they had never grown away from a certain religion, where they believed in spiritual guardians which protected you, but only for the people of a certain family. Charlotte was part of this family, so she got a guardian angel to look after her. The creature was wearing a white and gold shimmery dress and had long curly black hair with tanned skin. She leapt out of bed to greet her new guardian. Her guardian held up the number 3, and that is when Charlotte became confused. “Why are you holding up the number 3?” Charlotte asked the guardian.
“You are the third female in your family that is from your blood.” The guardian replied, as if it was common knowledge, “Everybody who’s been in your family besides your grandmother and great-great-great grandmother were males.” She resumed asking the guardian questions and quickly found out her name, Renee, that name absolutely fit her, it was the name she liked the most when she was looking through popular french names. It meant “Born again”. Charlotte quickly fell asleep and the next morning told her family the exciting news about her guardian.
Later that afternoon, she was getting ready for her public ceremony which would commemorate her new guardian. Charlotte was wearing a bejeweled deep eggplant chiffon dress that's flowy, but beautiful. She had on a headpiece given to her by her grandmother that was white and complemented her dark as midnight hair. Her tan skin was sparkling and youthful when she realized her guardian angel looked almost like an older version of her! She immediately asked her grandmother for the family tree. There, in plain sight, was a picture of her now guardian angel. Her great-great-great grandmother, Renee. Her mother poked her head into her dressing room , “Are you ready yet dear?” Her mom said, her turquoise dress sparkling like the Caribbean Sea.
“Yes mom, just one second” Charlotte replied, putting the family tree away. It didn’t matter who her guardian was, she was determined to make the planet a better place with her. That was what the guardians were for in the first place, but their purpose strayed from the path they were put on, so it's up to Charlotte to put it back in its rightful place.
