Hospital

“Hello“ Sam, I'm going to be your doctor. I'm doctor Abel. Would you like to tell me what happened?”

“I-I-I can’t say.. I can’t quite say I don’t remember ! I-I-”

“Sam, please take a deep breath. Would you like to go and think about it ? I’ll be right here.” I said, grabbing his chair and pushing him down the hall. Dark and deserted with no soul in sight. At this hospital at this late hour with the occasional screams of other patents in their rooms.

“Swoosh, swoosh, thump ! I-I remember that noise but that’s about it ! I’m not crazy, I know what I saw.. may God be my witness !! I saw someone attacking others.” he said, rubbing his hands together from that anxious thought.

“Sam, I’m not saying I don’t believe you but you gotta remember all the details. What happened? Who got hurt?”

I asked as I turned the corner to the long hallway. This one was much different than the others. As the hospital recently installed a makeshift garden for the top floored patients whose health problems wouldn't allow them to be outside. A skylight added the warmth and the sense of being outside as it was the entire roof of that room. The hall leading up to that room was so dark as there were no lights functioning at all with the only source being behind those doors that led into the garden.

“I don’t remember. Someone was attacking others and bothering them, that's why I was transferred here.” Sam said as he noticed his chair wasn’t moving anymore.

“Doctor ? Are you there?” Sam turned around and saw a lonely hallway with no one in sight. He dared to continue himself as he pushed the wheels with his hands and opened the door.

No sunlight. Was one word that Sam Miller thought to himself. All the plants in the room were dead.  The roof was nonexistent  as if it collapsed down to the street below. leaving the openness of the gloomy sky with overcast shadows creeping into the room. Pieces of the floor were gone. They fell off the floor leaving behind holes with pieces of ruined cement scattered around the room. Then a voice spoke behind Sam.

“Sam, you were the attacker… don’t you realize you were the one….You did this..” as Doctor Abel was standing in front of a large broken window. His clothes were bloody as Sam screamed wishing all of this was a dream.
