The Witches
They stay.
They build their village and their houses. They dance on their strings, and fill their roles. They say their prayers and they preach their book, but nobody is redeemed.
The struggle of building a colony hits them and they start to crack. The goats don't milk well and sleeves don't sew right. Mrs. Barsham swears she sees a horned shadow at the foot of her bed.
They grow angry, they hang and burn their wives and daughters. They laud the land as belonging to their religion, their god, their country.
But the witches were there first.

The wise man seeks answers at the bottom of a bottle. It is by the depth and contents of the bottle that you can tell the depth and contents of the man. And I'm not just talking alcohol. Could be all kinds of bottles. Pills, colas, etc. All kinds.
