First Love
His footsteps shuffle down the hall and she sighs. Glancing up, he’s there, gazing at her. As she opens her mouth to speak, her mouth is dry and she can’t utter a “hi”. She is shy, she knows. But with his confident smile, she knows she would have nothing to fear. But is it possible a geeky bookworm girl can be in the heart of a confident football player like him? It’s all too clear, I want him. She thought. But what are his thoughts, and his feelings? Does he ever think about me, notice me? Does he ever wonder about us, or how it would be? In her old world, she questions herself, but dares to ask. The fear of rejection and heartbreak. So she disguises herself, unable to face her true feelings of happiness. That smile, the way he makes me feel makes my heart grow fonder of him. As he passes by, she forces a smile, a fire passion love.
