You have a unique message to deliver; a unique song to sing, a unique act of love to bestow. This message, this song, and this act of love have been entrusted exclusively to the one and only you. - John Powell S.J

A cold breeze passes by as she walks into an abandoned park. There were a couple of trees here and there, one swing set, and a sand pit. That’s it. But this seemingly worthless park held so many memories. She quietly walks towards the rusty swing set and sits. Her hands covered in cashmere gloves suddenly attached to the chains connecting to the swing set, and then she simply swings back and forth by herself. Swinging forward and back, staring directly at the sky, and feeling invincible. Unexpectedly she has transported to the exact same location but a different time. She remembers every single detail of that day. He was there with her. It was springtime, May 25th to be precise. They were in love with each other, and everything was perfect. She remembers racing towards the swing sets because they made her feel like a little child again. They remained magical to her. She peacefully sat down, and at that moment he pushed her so effectively she felt that she could touched the clouds. She felt safe near him, close to him. Goosebumps emerged on her arms as she was brought back to reality. Another breeze passes by but stronger. Her hair follows the direction of the wind while she stopped the swings so abruptly and started walking toward the sand pit. When she dug her palm in the sand, each grain of sand left an impression on her hand. The sand was rough yet smooth, warm yet cold, and light yet heavy. She held a handful of sand in her palm. Slowly as the sand began to slip through her fingers she has been transported back to near summertime, June 14th. That day existed to be filled with laughter, smiles and hugs. She remembered them together. Building a pathetic sand castle, but they did it together. That was all that mattered, them together. She took millions of photos that day to treasure the moments. Those valued photos still existed in her camera at this very moment. He loved the sand, hundred percent. As her memory of them dumping sand on each other while laughing fades away, she returns back to reality. Her glove covered hands are now completely sand free at the same time as she walks toward the dying cherry blossom tree. The tree trunk was covered in a thin layer of frost. After she wiped away all the frost trying to hide her from her all time favorite memory, her heart beats rapidly. There it is. On that very tree trunk the dull carving read L O + V E = FOREVER. Leonard Odeon + Vanessa Edison = FOREVER. Now she remembered that moment extremely well. It was on a luminous July 20th, her 15th birthday. His gift to her was this carving on a cherry blossom tree. This was supposed to be a reminder that they will be forever together, no matter what. She took off her cashmere glove and gently ran her fingers across the indent. As she stared at the word “FOREVER” tears fell from her eyes one by one. That moment they didn’t know what will happen. They didn’t think that they would be separated so quickly. At that moment forever meant forever.

We all have that moment when everything is just about perfect, treasure it.
