The Newbie
“Hi i’m logan”he said over, and over again in front of the mirror. He turns to his mom on the other side of the room and exclaimed “mom i'm to nervous, I can't do it.” She replied “it’s ok to be nervous, you're going to a new school. You don’t have any friends here, but you will make friends fast, and I know it.” Logan packed his bag then left for school. It was the longest car ride of his life. As the car approaches the school he begins to panic. Then the car pulls into the parking lot. He begins to panic. What if i get made fun of he thought to himself. Finally the time came he had to go into the school. Logan got out of the car, and they said their goodbyes, Then before he knew it she left, the car was gone.He grasped the cold metal handle to the door, pulled it, and went in side. Logan walked to the gym, and sat alone by himself. He avoided talking to anyone else.
Finally after what felt like an eternity sitting alone on the hard, and cold gym bleachers it was time to go to homeroom. Logan sat by himself the entire time. He was hoping no one would come and talk to him, and no one did. Next first hour came around faster than Logan was ready for. He sat in the back away from most people. Then he repeated it until 6th hour. Then the day was over he got his stuff and left as fast as possible. He leaves the school, and his grandma who was picking him up, and asked how his day went. Logan hesitated, and said great. Logan knew in his head the day wasnt taerabial. He just wanted to avoid the topic. He liked all of his teachers, but only had one friend in the whole school. His one friend was also new to the school. He was short with short brown hair, blue eyes, and tan skin.
Logan went back day after day doing the same thing. Logan had no classes with his only friend in the new school. Then day after day the teachers started to pick seats. Logan started to panic. He didn't want to sit with a group of people he didn't know. For the second week of school Logan did the minimum requirements for all the group of classmates he was with. Hd tryed as much as possible to not make eye contact. Then in some groups he did all the work, and now the same people ask him to copy his homework, and he stands up for himself. Every time he thought I shouldn't let them walk all over me, he thought to himself, but on the other hand i should. Logan just ignored then, and just got through the day, and he did. He got through the day without talking as much as possible. Then the next day rolls around “it’s finally friday” Logan exclaimed. He gets to school in the best attitude ever. Today's the day Logan thought as he pulled up to the school. He Starts talking to new people, and first time this year he begins having good conversations with people who he avoided all week.
Then it’s time to go to lunch, and now he has more than one friend to sit with. Logan is so excited to go back to school to talk to his new friends. He found where he fits in, and he wasn’t moving from that place any time soon. Logan started to participate in class more. He finally got comfortable with his new teachers, and classmates. Every time logan is asked how his day went he says good, and he means it. Logan actually wants to talk about school. He wasn’t shy for the most part. Now Logan’s close to nine weeks into school, and he has no problem talking to other people, but he will not let anyone walk all over him. He is doing alright in school, and having a blast his last year in middle school, and proud to be there too.
