In high school, there are many different groups throughout the whole entire school. It is important to feel accepted by the people you hang out with and the friends you have made. The group that you belong to usually has similar qualities and similar interests. Many people believe that is it very important to find a group, so that you have protection and security at all times. The people that you hang out with, would help you at all times. Belonging to a group means you are part of a group of friends that can share common interests. Being a member of a group is very important for many people because they have a group of friends who will always be there for you.
First of all, when you fit in to a group, they usually have many things in common and can sometimes be very similar. These are the people that you choose to be your friends, and the people that you would want to hang out with. You feel accepted and secure around the rest of the people in the group. A group can stay together for a very long time because they share similar interests and qualities. When you fit in to a group, it means that you are friends with them and get along together. Sometimes you may find people that have the same interests, but may not be the right people for you. Once you finally feel accepted and protected around them, than you belong with that group. When you belong to a group, it means that they have already been friends with you for awhile and choose to hang out with you. There can be a difference between belonging and fitting in, but for the most part they are very similar.
Next, sometimes when a group is together for awhile, they begin to separate or maybe are no longer friends anymore. This can be very hard for many people because they have been friends with the same people for a very long time, and can be hard to find new friends. When, the group changes than it can have an affect on the people, because now they must create new friends which can be an issue. This is very hard for many people if they are removed or kicked out from a group. The people that have lost their friends can be very upset about it, and may have an issue making new ones. Losing your friends is very hard, but once you figure out where you belong and fit in, it becomes much easier for everyone.
People can change when they join a group because they need to fit in with their new friends. I choose to hang out with the people who have many of the same interests as me. The people that are my friends play the same sport as me and have many similar interests. My group of friends is very close, and we choose to hang out with each other. I think that you should not be defined by the people you hang out with, but should be defined by who you are. I define myself as who I want people to see me as, and not by the people I hang out with. The image that you want people to see you as does not have to be the same as all of the people you hang out with.
High school can be a very hard time for people due to the many different social groups. It can take awhile to figure out exactly where you fit in and belong to. Everyone wants to fit in with a certain group in high school, and although it can be hard at first, it will become easier later on. Once you are able to find the group you belong too, you can finally feel that they are your group of friends. Belonging to a group is very important for every teenager because they feel protected and accepted to their group. Which group do you fit into and how would you define yourself?
