Taking Back What's Ours
It is 2099 and it has been 30 years since the war in the U.S with the robots in 2069. We lost that war terribly we were overpowered by our own weapons. We had trained the robots to use those weapons on our enemies but we became their number one enemy after some programming difficulties. They overtook our country and claimed it theirs with plans to vaporize all humans from the country. They renamed our country Timber no one knows why but they did. Other countries on the planet completed isolated themselves after they saw what they did to us other countries thought of nuclear weapons on us but most of the robots could fly away at jet speed into the atmosphere so that plan wouldn't work. They imprisoned us on the halfway point of the country to have a view of both sides of the country their half was all advanced looking like you would see in the movies and the other half was where all the debris and trash were put from the war. The robots don't really care about the other countries for some reason or at least it doesn't seem that way maybe after they imprisoned all of us they attacked them and they could be in the same situation as us. One thing we don't know is why they kept us living not all of us thats for sure but millions of Americans died. The few who didn't always wonder why they got to live. Some people say that they might still need us and that they have programmers imprisoned to be updating their technology. Im not sure why they kept the rest of us around maybe just to see us suffer to look at the half of what was still our country untouched by robot technology it was all destroyed debris but it once was the stepping stones of our country. Seeing all that has happened and what they have done to our country has been making me think and to plan of escaping my camp. I need to show the rest of my people that we can take back what's rightfully ours.
I plan to leave tonight on December 6, 2099 at midnight. I know what time it is because I enjoy keeping the time and knowing what day it is. Its the only thing that reminds me everyday of what we once were. I will go to all the other prison camps and try to pass the word to get some followers to follow me during this revolution. I knew it was going to be close to impossible to get people to even listen to what I have to say do to the fact that everyone knows what the robots can do. These people have been afraid from the robots for many years now and it will be hard for that to change. They know their life would be on the line. I dont care how many times I fail I promise my self and the fate of the human race to not give up until death. So the time for me to go on my journey has come. So I gather the people from my section of the camp i'm in and ask them to hear what I have to say. I hadn't thought of telling them until now because I know there would have been people telling me on a daily basis how stupid the plan was and I didn't want that stress. I also knew that everyone would be asking too many question , questions that I didn't have the answers to. So as I was telling them as I expected endless face expressions throughout the whole crowd. For a good minute or so it was just face expressions but then the crowd bursted out laughing then one by one they started separating from the horde going to their rooms. It didn't go as I expected it to go but I was not going to let that stop me. All except for three people stayed two young brothers in their early 20’s who had never seen the world before the war , and an old man around my age who probably fought in the war with me. All at the same time staring blank into my eyes said “I believe you.” and introduced themselves and demanded that they were coming along they were tired of living the way they did and would do anything to change that even if it cost their life. I don't know what to feel at this point I haven't even left and I already had three people who saw things the way I did. Unfortunately I hadn't planned out the escape for more than one person and if I did bring them along my plan would most likely fail so I had to tell them that I couldn't take them right now but I promised them I would be back for them. First I had to try to reach out to all the other camps because although a group of three is a start it would be stupid to revolt against hundreds of robots. Plus I don't want to risk their lives not knowing what was waiting for us out there. I had no right even if they said they were willing to risk their lives it is too early in the battle to be thinking like that they wouldn't have a hair of a chance of winning like that. So I let them know what my plan was and told them what to do if I weren't to make it back. They agreed and off I went. I got into the cart with dead bodies from starvation that the robots hauled out weekly into the wasteland and what would you know my plan worked. I was in the outside world now I was so happy but then I quickly realized I was laying down with a pile of dead rotting bodies which focused my mind on why I was out there doing. I had to do to stop more American bodies being added to the pile. For the first day I was just looking for entry ways to the robots side and looking for food. Then the next day it was time to get to work before they realized I was gone. So I went off prison camp to prison camp to try to recruit more people but I was getting no results everyone I told either ignored me or laughed at me. At this point I thought my whole plan was a complete failure. I was on my way back to my camp when the prison camp alarms had gone off , they had realized I was gone. I had to find somewhere to hide immediately otherwise they would find me and would not hesitate to vaporize me. As I was hiding out in an old building under some debris I kept hearing the robocops pass by then I heard something walking up to where I was hiding I literally thought to myself this is it but as the steps got closer and the lifted up the debris in which I was hiding under I was surprised to see other humans. The said “Quickly we have to move now.” and they took me to their underground shelter it was a small group of people. A black women in her 40’s , grey haired white man in his 60’s and a bald headed guy. They told me that they have heard about him going around in the prison camps and that they want to help. They told me that they knew a way to get into the robots territory so they made a plan and I went to get my followers from my camp.
On my way back to my section to retrieve the two young brothers and the man. I had noticed they had done some work and had gained some followers to come along on this revolution with us. These once insanely scared from the robots people overcame their fear for a chance for humanity. As we made our journey we felt the robo cops catching up to us. I had finally reached my goal and got enough people to attempt to take back what's ours. The robo cops had finally caught up with no hesitation aimed their weapons at us.They immediately called in that they had found us and asked what to do with us. At this point I knew it was over for me but I also knew it wasn't over for the human race because I think other people from the camps will see this moment and remember it as encouragement for them to do the same no matter what. I had fate in my fellow Americans to not be afraid of the robots or death because it isnt much worse of how we already are living. Nothing is more important than us taking back what's ours. The robocops made us get on our knees and at this point I knew what was going to happen.
