Face of a Liar
I rub my hands over the smooth surface of the paper wrapping and stuff it in my pocket. I grab a soda for show, and walk up to the counter. I can feel the heavy weight of the pack of gum leaning against my right leg.
“Thanks” I grab the soda on the table and push one of the two double doors open and jog to the sidewalk leading my way home. I jam the coke-cola bottle under my arm and reach my hand into my pocket in pull out the packet. I carefully unwrap the paper and pop a fat pink cube into my mouth. It tastes worst then usual. I lean over the bushes and puck the flavor of the stolen gum and my breakfast. It wasn’t worth it.
