like you
Like a splash of water, coating your skin on a dry humid day
Like the brushing of skin, another human, a connection after loneliness
Like a rainbow stretching across a once violent, storming sky offering its forgiveness
Like the discovery of a ten dollar bill in your jean pocket
Like a first kiss in the rain
Like the feeling of a friend holding you when all seems lost
Like a new born baby, the proof of miracles in a sometimes harsh world
Like the taste of crisp pizza, on a Friday night surrounded with friends
Like a 100 percent on an exam you stayed up the last night cramming for
Like the feeling of finishing a marathon tears streaming down your face in victory
Like a morning mist, tasting of peppermint and grass
Like the moment you realized your stronger then you ever knew
Like a reunion with an old friend, you have been waiting ages to see again
Like the completion of a book that changed the way you think
Like a bag of skittles, your I pod, and sunglasses while you bake on the beach
Like the smell of cookies coming out of the oven filling you with their sweet aroma
Like a “I’m sorry” from someone who has done you wrong
Like the packing of your luggage before embarking on an adventure of a lifetime
Like a loss of gravity, sky diving through the open earth skimming the crisp white clouds
Like the acceptance letter from the collage you have been dreaming of your whole life
Like a brand new driver, leaving home for the first time alone
Like the fragrance of flowers in a garden
Like a song that blasts through your soul, and fills you with life, and electricity
Like the first time someone holds your hand, a realization that you are not alone
Like a campfire cracking, and toasting your body from the inside out
Like the wing blowing through your hair, taking all your worries with it
Like everything you ever made me feel, like you.
