Small Beaches
On a small beach a girl sits in the sand. Her body curves in the smoothness that wraps around her heart. The waves, as she watches peak into brilliant cobalt flowers. She can only see the sweet spontaneous movements as the tide rushes back down to a sunless sea. When the ocean breeze blazes coolly against her warm face, she feels the swift and sweetness of its spray. Time and time again she will sit and watch the rhythm of ocean in darkness instead of the blue white of day. She can still picture the sand and sun in the daylight, but it’s never the same. The stinging tears will return when she has to go home for school to start. She will always come back to the ocean in which she can spend her sleepless nights gazing at its peaceful murky blue waters again.
