Looking Forward
Obviously the slim sixteen-year-old who stood in the middle of the train station had never run away before. Her sorrowful face stood out amongst the deafening crowd which showed this had been her first time leaving. She looked to the swarm of people searching for familiar faces, while her thin hair, dyed black, hung by her waist. She clenched her lumpy sweater remembering why she decided to leave in the first place. The thunderous roar of the train gave the signal to board. She picked up her one bag, which still smelled of cigarette smoke from years past, and swiftly approached the train, then walked through the aisle never to look back.
