New Era of Friends
Every wonder what it’s like to move on from old friends and make new friends. Well, that’s how things change from high school to freshman year in college. You leave for school and go somewhere far and think “yeah I’m going to keep the same friends I’ve had forever”. Well that all changes when you step into your dorm room for the first time. People change when you least expect them to.
Starting college can be a rough experience. Leaving home, knowing you’re going to have to make new friends, being alone, living with someone you may not even know. There are good things about college too. It allows you to start over. Starting over can be a good thing. New experiences, a new personality, with new friends. People you may have never thought in high school you would have ever gotten a long with before. College is a life changer, this is where you make your long-term friends, not the ones you had in high school that you said hi to. The one’s where when you’re done with school you live near each other, they go to your wedding, your best man or bridesmaid. The true friendship that you think you have in high school will all change.
People in high school become friends with people to look popular and look cool. When really in college by the end of it, making new friends and starting over will make you have more friends and look popular. When you can look at life and look back at high school and college friends, you’ll remember that your closest friends come from college. I’m not saying that there isn’t going to be one or two friends that you have from high school that last forever, but in time things change.
College shows you the “reality”, people in college tend to just be themselves. This allows them to make the friends that they want. Now don’t expect this all to change within one semester these things take time. Good things take time, things will last when time is taken.
