Mother Gothel

I devote my life to my looks. Being beautiful is what matters to me the most over everything. I’ll do anything to remain young and beautiful. Darling don’t tell me you wouldn’t do the same. I know the power my looks have and would like to keep that power. Having dominance over people is what makes me feel exhilarated. So of course, when I found a cure for aging, I used! Why would I ignore this opportunity? That golden sundrop flower I centered my life around. The thing that kept me, me. I wouldn’t know what to do with myself if I didn’t have the power it holds.

I went to the sundrop flower every day. You would never catch me skipping my day of healing. So, I had to hide it away from people to ensure it would be safe. But when I went to visit the flower, it was gone. The dread I felt that day will never be forgotten. My grand jewel was taken from me. It was mine! I was going to get it back no matter the cost. I do not care who needed it. I needed it. Whatever I am vain. Blah blah blah. But I need to stay young. Who am I old? I never want to find out. That was exactly the plan when I found out who took it. Of course, the King and Queen of Corona had so cruelly taken what’s mine.

My flower was given to the queen on a silver platter. Yeah, yeah, she was sick. She needed the healing. But she shouldn’t have taken what wasn’t hers. I didn’t know how to get the golden flower back. Finding out she was pregnant when she drank the flower as a tea changed everything. That baby held the flower's abilities now. As soon as I put this together, I snuck into the palace. I snatched Rapunzel out of her crib and took her as mine. I had to. Rapunzel has what I need. It’s not like I kept her in a dungeon. She was perfectly fine in her tower. Until that ungrateful child left. Leaving me yet again without my healing powers. Continuously I get the short end of the stick. The things that are mine get taken. You all know how it feels to be lower than the kingdom. As citizens of Corona, you should stand by me! I took what was rightfully mine. The kingdom is the one at fault for the kidnapping of their daughter Rapunzel. I shouldn’t be crucified for wanting to remain young.

This is a depiction of Mother Gothel playing the victim. She tries to avoid any blame put on her and expresses herself in a very vain way.
