Footprints
A light layer of snow covered the slick ground, our heavy boots cracking the thin layer of ice. A buzzing sound filled the air. I looked to the left, three of my men had fallen, the hay we were bringing to the horses still clutched in their arms. My chest was on fire, a burning sensation right over my heart. I looked down, blood was pouring from the gaping hole in my chest, that’s when I fell, then all I could see was black.
